The same village, in German
Can the little world feel at home in another language? Habitat now has a German first reading alongside English, with a visible switch that keeps your place.

Full entry & measurements
The public website now has four English routes and four German counterparts under /de/, authored in a persistent catalog. Navigation, first-reading copy, recent journal summaries, media captions, accessibility controls, static metadata and interactive diagram labels are localized. Historical technical notes and provenance remain clearly labeled English originals; dates, measurements, failed model gates and source identities were not rewritten. The first mobile headline wrapped awkwardly, so the final version reads “Eine kleine Welt. Viel los bei den Nachbarn.” Six individually reviewed website captures retain the first desktop, first phone, revised headline, final desktop, phone profile and script-free explanation. The first desktop source snapshot was unavailable and is explicitly unknown; later evidence records exact generated HTML hashes. Current localization source on 15 October 2026: 124 tests passed in 17.10 seconds across localization/static pages/publication/export/evidence/overview/fonts. Actual browser verification covered 16/16 route/viewport combinations (8 routes at 390 × 844 and 1280 × 900) without horizontal overflow; the German home also fit 320 × 760. All 4/4 German routes rendered useful text in a verification copy with zero script elements; filesystem checking found zero missing static references in the eight generated HTML files. The mobile menu, matching-page language switch and interactive Remember step were exercised. These are website checks, not game or performance acceptance. The reviewed 1200 × 630 sharing JPEG is unchanged and metadata remains localized per page. Source and review detail: docs/public-website.md and docs/overview-site.md. Next: owner deployment in Plesk and live-route/CSP verification; a website Git push does not prove deployment. The newly requested interaction and ambient-motion refinement follows as a separate increment.
