What makes a little life their own?

A shared design notebook records how residents choose today and questions for making their experiences shape tomorrow. These are discussion notes, not new gameplay systems.

Full entry & measurements

Source review saved in docs/design-notebook.md. Daily choices use local scoring; optional Qwen proposes bounded next activities and speech. Persistent experience exists, while continuing ambitions and experience-driven interest development remain future design work. Thought bubbles and diary text are authored simulator projections. Reviewed six core Python files on 15 October 2026; combined ordered path/content SHA-256 90a28b6f74cc2aa7e508451df307ed3c9041cdc0437b1d9e144f37a614870ac2. Measured code limits at this review: 5 ordinary candidate choices, 120 simulation-second model goal lifetime, 80 diary entries per resident. Sources: behavior.py and resident_journal.py. No new runtime tests or model calls were performed. Two fresh 2880 × 1800 Unity frames were captured at 20:56:31 and 20:56:34 UTC from player unity-thought-ui-source-f35fc9015b61-20261015204249 and individually inspected with their metadata. The current view has roof occlusion; the village view shows overall appearance. Neither proves cognition quality. Next: elaborate which experiences should change goals, interests and relationships. Both Needle gates remain disabled.
